20% increase in flight ticket prices from the UAE to Jordan

Airfare prices for new bookings from the UAE to Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria have increased by 15 to 20 percent. This follows the closure of airspace in some countries, the postponement and rescheduling of dozens of flights, and the start of the peak summer travel season and the high demand for return flights.

Two managers of travel and tourism agencies in the UAE confirmed that flight cancellations and rescheduling by airlines have put pressure on future flights, which in turn has led to increased demand for seats and, consequently, higher prices for new bookings to these destinations.

They said that airlines are currently focusing on addressing the operational situation of canceled flights by finding seats for affected passengers on upcoming flights. They noted that with the ongoing repercussions of airspace closures in some countries, ticket prices remain subject to further change depending on regional developments. They emphasized that flight cancellations and rescheduling have put pressure on future flights, which in turn has led to increased demand for seats, and consequently, higher prices for new bookings to destinations such as Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria.
