4 important things about the impact of the Red Sea depression on the Kingdom in the coming days

Arab Weather - God willing, the Kingdom will be affected during the last days of October 2025 by an ineffective extension of what is called the Red Sea Depression, which is accompanied by a rise in temperatures in all regions with an activity in the speed of the easterly winds at times, especially during the current weekend.

1- High temperatures

The Arab Weather app indicates that the Kingdom will be affected on Thursday and Friday by the extension of the Red Sea trough and the warm air mass associated with it. Therefore, temperatures will rise further in all regions of the Kingdom, to be about 4-6 degrees Celsius above average for this time of year. The weather will be closer to summer (relatively hot during the afternoon and evening hours) , with clouds gradually appearing at medium and high altitudes, especially in the south and east of the Kingdom.

Maximum temperatures will be around 30 degrees Celsius in major cities, including the capital Amman, while exceeding half of that in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and the city of Aqaba.

2- The easterly winds return to the Kingdom

The easterly winds are expected to return starting on Thursday, but they will be moderate in speed, occasionally becoming active over some areas during the daytime. However, starting from the late hours of Monday/Tuesday night and during Friday, the winds will become moderate southeasterly, with active gusts, especially on the slopes of the high mountain ranges and the Jordan Valley, in addition to the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. The southeasterly winds will stir up dust and sand in several areas, especially the desert regions.

3- Higher nighttime temperatures compared to previous nights

Nighttime temperatures will rise at the end of the week compared to previous nights, with the weather during the late night hours being relatively cold in most parts of the Kingdom, especially over the mountainous highlands and valley areas.

4- The extension of the Red Sea trough will be ineffective

The extension of the Red Sea trough at the surface towards Jordan and the northern Arabian Peninsula during the coming days coincides with the dominance of a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere. This leads to its ineffective impact in terms of rainfall, and consequently, the weather will be stable. In other cases, when a cold trough in the upper atmosphere pushes towards the region and coincides with the presence of the Red Sea trough at the surface, this causes unstable weather conditions and thunderstorms.
