A hot air mass is positioned in the south of the Kingdom and will get closer in the coming days. Will it develop into a heat wave?
Arab Weather - The Kingdom began to be affected today, Thursday, by a relatively hot air mass that comes as a result of the approach of hot air located further south over the Kingdom. Today, Thursday, it is expected to be a normal summer day to relatively hot in all regions, and hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, Aqaba and desert areas. The winds will be westerly, moderate in speed, and will be active in the afternoon hours in some areas.
A hot air mass is approaching the Kingdom in the coming days. Will it develop into a heat wave?
According to the latest weather data, a hot air mass, positioned to the south, is set to approach the Kingdom on Friday and Saturday. Therefore, a further, but slight, rise in temperatures is expected, with relatively hot to hot weather expected throughout the day across the region.
The winds will be moderate westerly, becoming active in the afternoon in some areas.
No heat waves are expected and the weather will remain pleasant at night.
Weather maps released Thursday evening indicate that the deepening of hot air towards the Kingdom so far is not sufficient for the weather system to develop into a heat wave, as the hot air mass in the south is expected to affect the Kingdom with its edges without deepening significantly. Therefore, its greatest impact in terms of rising temperatures will remain on the regions located east of the Kingdom according to the axis of deepening of hot air, in addition to the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba regions due to their low elevation above sea level.
Despite the high temperatures during the day, the weather is expected to remain pleasant during the evening and night hours, making it suitable for outdoor seating over the weekend.
