A very cold polar air mass reaches Türkiye, with potential consequences for the region.

Arab Weather - God willing, a very cold air mass is expected to move towards the European continent in the coming days, causing a sharp and noticeable drop in temperatures in wide areas, especially the eastern parts, after a period of warm spring weather that has recently prevailed.

Regionally, the most prominent event is in Türkiye, where the weather is heading towards a noticeable cold, with expectations of snowfall over the highlands, in a scene that brings back the features of winter again despite the progress of spring.

This type of air mass is unusual at this time of year, due to its late arrival, as well as the large temperature difference compared to general averages, which may reach about 15 degrees Celsius below average in some areas.

This major change in Europe paves the way for clear fluctuations in our region, as after the warm spring weather during the next few days, some of the effects of this air mass are expected to begin reaching the region starting Sunday evening and lasting for several days.

As its effects begin, temperatures will drop sharply, winds will pick up, and the weather will shift from warm spring-like conditions to something closer to winter. For example, the maximum temperature in some neighborhoods of Amman is expected to reach around 28 degrees Celsius on Saturday, before dropping to a high of about 15 degrees Celsius by midweek, while the minimum will fall below 8 degrees Celsius.

Rain is also expected mainly in Lebanon and western Syria, with some clouds and light showers extending to limited parts of southern Levant.
