Weather experts are monitoring the latest outputs of numerical models available through the Arab Weather application, indicating the possibility of several Arab countries being affected this week by unstable weather and chances of rain and snow, accompanied by lightning, thunder, and surface wind activity. These weather fluctuations include parts of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya, and later Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and parts of Saudi Arabia.

It is accompanied by heavy rain and snow on high mountains.

A very cold polar air mass is pushing towards North Africa

In detail: North African Arab countries are expected to experience unstable weather conditions as the region is affected by low-pressure systems accompanied by an influx of very cold polar air masses. Rain of varying intensity is expected on Monday in parts of Morocco and Algeria, before intensifying on Tuesday and occasionally turning to heavy snow in the high mountain areas of Algeria.

Starting Tuesday night, the rain will extend to Tunisia, and later to some of the Libyan coast, coinciding with a sharp and noticeable drop in temperatures.

It is accompanied by lightning, thunder, and wind.

A new low-pressure system brings heavy rain to the Levant and snow to the high mountains.

Starting on Friday, the Levant region is expected to be affected by a new low-pressure system accompanied by a cold to very cold air mass, resulting in a significant drop in temperatures, increased wind activity, and renewed moderate to heavy rainfall and hail showers in Syria and Lebanon, which will take the form of snow on high mountain peaks. Moderate to heavy rain will also affect large parts of Palestine, Jordan, and Iraq.

Limited local rainfall in some Gulf countries

As for the Gulf Arab states, most of their regions are expected to be affected during the week by generally stable weather, with the exception of limited parts of the Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman and western Saudi Arabia, which may witness limited rainfall. Meanwhile, a cold air mass is expected to push towards the northeastern parts of Saudi Arabia, causing rainfall in parts of Al-Jawf and the northern borders at the end of the week, and God knows best.
