Brides' Pool from Hibernation to Life

Arab Weather - Today, 08/03/2025, I spent a cloudy day with photographer Omar Al-Dajani - despite the temperature exceeding 38 degrees Celsius in the afternoon at the site - we, thank God, conducted an exploratory tour on the ground to Al-Arayes Pool in Bani Kinanah District in northern Jordan... to follow up on the issue of water being diverted to it by the Jordan Valley Authority after it completely dried up last June.
Following appeals to the Jordan Valley Authority regarding the necessity of working on reviving this pond through a gradual rescue method, the Water Authority, as of 07/15/2025, began to send cadres from the Jordan Valley Authority to the site and submit an urgent study and develop appropriate solutions and implement them directly by diverting a water course to the pond site by pumping water from one of the artesian wells located about one kilometer away from the pond and through a natural flowing earthen channel towards the pond at a rate of 30 liters per second and around the clock with the aim of feeding the pond with water and working on reviving it again.

The views were as follows:
* A gradual return of water has begun to appear on the surface of the pond in the southeastern part, and if the water supply continues, the pond may return to its previous state as it was in 2024 AD within two months from now.
* Plant and animal life began to flourish in the pond. Reptiles, especially frogs, green squirrels, and Greek tortoises, as well as several species of birds, had returned after having migrated to the grasses and shrubs around the pond and in the nearby mountains.
We would like to thank His Excellency the Secretary General of the Jordan Valley Authority, Eng. Hisham Al-Haisa, and Dr. Zuhair Al-Balawneh, Director of Laboratories at the Jordan Valley Authority, for their quick response to the calls made by many environmental activists. We also thank all the electronic media websites that covered the hydrological situation of the lake, and all thanks and appreciation to all the people who contributed in one way or another to highlighting the importance of this only sunken geological lake in Jordan, which is estimated to be approximately 18,000 years old.
Thus, the bride's pool has returned from hibernation to life.
