Arab Weather - Starting Wednesday, March 25, 2026, God willing, the Kingdom will be affected by the peak of the rainy weather system, Ghaith, as the Kingdom will be affected by a deep low-pressure system classified as a fourth degree (highly effective) according to the Arab Weather scale for the intensity of low-pressure systems. This high classification comes in light of the strong effects expected on the southern regions of the Kingdom. This low-pressure system will bring, God willing, heavy and widespread rain and floods. Snowfall is also expected over the southern peaks, specifically the peaks of Tafila and Shara.

A cold front will cross the Kingdom's skies on Wednesday afternoon and evening, accompanied by heavy rain and hail.
Weather experts predicted that Wednesday would be relatively cold and partly cloudy with rain in some areas, and gradually, during the afternoon and evening hours, the Kingdom would begin to be affected by a deep low-pressure system, as a highly effective cold front would cross the atmosphere, and the rain would intensify, becoming heavy at times, accompanied by lightning, thunder, and hail showers in several areas, including the city of Aqaba, which would increase the chances of flash floods.

Heavy rain is expected in Aqaba during the early hours of Wednesday/Thursday night, with deep winter conditions prevailing in the rest of the country.
As Wednesday/Thursday night approaches, the rain will be heavy at times in the city of Aqaba, while the rain will continue to fall intermittently in the rest of the regions.

With the dawn hours of Thursday, the impact of the low-pressure system will gradually intensify over the southern regions, and the rain will become thundery and heavy, sometimes accompanied by intense hail showers. Snow showers are also possible on the high southern mountain peaks (the high Tafila, such as Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Rashadiyah, in addition to the Sharah mountain range west of Ma’an). These snows will accumulate, God willing, and the snow thickness will increase with increasing altitude above sea level.

Thursday, March 26, 2026: The peak of the low-pressure system will affect southern regions in the form of heavy rain, hail showers, and snow in the highlands of Tafilah and western Ma'an.
Temperatures will drop significantly, becoming 7-9 degrees Celsius below average. The weather will be cold and cloudy with occasional rain and hail showers. Rain will be heavy with hail showers in some central areas, especially the capital and Madaba, from morning until just before noon.

Over time, the rainy weather pattern will concentrate in the southern regions, where heavy rainfall and hail showers are expected, increasing the chances of flash floods and torrents in those areas.

Snowfall is expected during the early morning hours in the high mountainous areas of southern Saudi Arabia (the Sharah Mountains), and the precipitation will become more regular as the day progresses. Accumulation is possible, especially on the high peaks, while intermittent snowfall, sometimes accompanied by heavy hail showers, will extend throughout the mountainous areas of southern Saudi Arabia.

The winds will be moderate southwesterly, becoming noticeably more active in the afternoon and evening.
