The Council welcomed the contents of the international conference organized by the Muslim World League in Mecca on “building bridges between Islamic sects,” and expressed its thanks to the nation’s scholars participating in the conference for their appreciation of the great efforts made by the Kingdom in serving Islam and Muslims, in caring for the Two Holy Mosques, and in strengthening Islamic solidarity. .

Saudi Green Initiative

The Saudi Green Initiative represents an ambitious national effort aimed mainly at addressing the effects of climate change and environmental problems, with the aim of improving the quality of life of future generations and the well-being of citizens.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, announced the launch of this initiative, which aims to activate the role of all societal bodies, starting from rural and urban communities to the public sector and civil society organizations. The goal is to unify efforts towards sustainability and accelerate efforts to combat climate change in the Kingdom.

Promoting charitable work and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030

The Council of Ministers affirmed the state’s continued commitment to supporting charitable work in the Kingdom and maximizing its impact on society, noting the success of the fourth national campaign to support charitable work in achieving broad interaction and positive competition among benefactors in its first days, which reflects the most wonderful images of solidarity and solidarity in acts of kindness and giving.

In this context, the Council, headed by the King, announced recording the highest levels of contribution of non-oil activities to the gross domestic product at a rate of up to 50%, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to achieve a diversified and prosperous economy.

This announcement comes as confirmation of the success of implementing the major vision programs and projects, by opening new sectors that contribute to increasing growth rates, according to the Saudi News Agency (SPA) .

Within the framework of the new decisions and approvals recently taken by the Council, it approved the appointment of the Royal Commission for the Holy City of Mecca and the Holy Sites as the supervising body for the project of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Center for Cosmological Sciences and Crescent Observations, the Mecca Clock, and the internal and external crescent observatories. He also approved an agreement to establish a headquarters between the Kingdom’s government and the International Monetary Fund to establish a regional office for the Fund in the city of Riyadh.

In addition, important decisions included the approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi and Egyptian Finance Ministries to establish a high-level financial dialogue.
