Weather update: Dense dust storms are beginning to form on desert roads in the eastern and southern Badia regions.

The Kingdom has begun to be affected by the Khamsin winds, as satellite images have shown the beginning of the formation of dense dust waves in the eastern and southern desert regions, which has led to a significant decrease in horizontal visibility.

Wind speeds are expected to gradually increase during the coming hours, with some gusts reaching 100 km/h in the eastern and southern desert regions. This will lead to increased dust density and reduced, and possibly zero, visibility on desert roads and external roads, including the international road connecting Amman and Baghdad (Baghdad International Road), in addition to border crossings such as Al-Omari, Al-Turaibil, and Al-Mudawwarah, where a significant decrease in visibility is expected, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Meanwhile, various governorates of the Kingdom are affected by active winds, which are expected to increase in intensity over time, becoming dust-raising to varying degrees.
