News of a Mauritanian pilgrim plane crashing into the Red Sea, and the authorities respond.

Arab Weather - Mauritanian authorities have categorically denied reports circulating on social media about a plane carrying Mauritanian pilgrims crashing into the Red Sea near the Egyptian border, stressing that this information is completely baseless.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, through Hajj Director Wali Taha, clarified that all Mauritanian pilgrims arrived safely in the holy lands, and that there were no incidents related to the Hajj pilgrimage. The Mauritanian official wrote in a post on his official account:
Our pilgrims are safe and have arrived in the Holy Land safely.

For its part, Mauritania Airlines issued an official statement confirming that the circulating news is completely false, noting that it had organized three flights to transport pilgrims on May 23, 24, and 25, in full coordination with the relevant authorities. It also clarified that return flights are scheduled for June 12, 13, and 14, according to a carefully approved schedule.

The company expressed its dismay at the spread of rumors that could cause confusion and anxiety among citizens, urging them to be accurate and not be swayed by false news. It also affirmed its legal right to prosecute anyone who spreads false information that could harm the safety of passengers or the company's reputation.
