Objectives of World Environment Day 2021

Arab Weather - Every year on June 5, the world greets the World Environment Day, which is one of the largest annual events organized by the United Nations (UN) to remind the importance of nature and green spaces. Raising people's awareness of respecting and preserving the environment.

With the recent closures, and the preventive measures that have been taken in the world to limit the spread of the Corona virus, people have been forced to change their lifestyle and spend more time at home, these measures have greatly reduced human activities that were harming the environment, and nature got some time to clean itself and restore some of the damaged ecosystems.

History of World Environment Day

The United Nations established World Environment Day in 1972, the first day of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. And in 1974, it was celebrated for the first time in the United States under the slogan "One Earth". Since then it has been celebrated by many host countries, and the center of these activities rotates every year between countries.
