Europe is experiencing a severe heat wave, while the Levant enjoys normal summer weather.

Arab Weather - Remarkably hot weather is prevailing across large parts of the European continent as a result of a severe heat wave, considered among the most intense this year. Unusually high temperatures are being recorded in many capitals and major cities, while the Levant region is experiencing a drop in temperatures due to the influence of moderate sea winds, resulting in normal summer weather.

Scorching temperatures in Europe

Data from European meteorological centers indicate that the current heat wave is pushing temperatures to record levels. Paris is expected to reach 40°C, while Madrid and Rome will reach 38°C, and Berlin will reach 36°C. These are very high temperatures for June and indicate the severity of the heat dome dominating western and central Europe. The hot air mass is trapped under high atmospheric pressure, preventing heat dissipation and gradually heating the air.

More moderate weather in the Levant

In contrast, the Levant, including Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine, is experiencing normal summer weather thanks to the onset of moderate and humid northwesterly maritime air currents. Temperatures in Amman average around 32°C, in Damascus 34°C, in Jerusalem 29°C, and in Beirut 28°C.

Forecasts indicate that the heatwave in Western Europe will begin to subside during the second half of the week (and extend to other parts of the continent), as a cooler air mass advances toward the west and center of the continent. Temperatures are expected to drop significantly, and there is a chance of thunderstorms in a number of areas.
