The first first-degree depression hit at the end of September 2021... Will it happen again this year?
Arab Weather - September is considered an important transitional period between summer and winter in Jordan, as the weather begins to fluctuate between hot air masses and autumnal ones. It may also bring the first instances of atmospheric instability or early depressions. Although the prevailing weather remains relatively summery, the weather is generally hot.
From the climate archives: The first low-pressure system of 2021 occurred at the end of September.
Toward the end of September 2021, the Kingdom was affected by the first low-pressure system of the season. This system was accompanied by a colder-than-usual air mass, classified as a first-degree system according to the Arab Weather Index for measuring the intensity of low-pressure systems. This system caused a significant drop in temperatures, with cool weather prevailing during the day and relatively cold weather at night. Rain and hail showers fell across the north and center of the Kingdom, extending to the peaks of the Sharah Mountains in the south. Heavy rains were experienced at times, leading to rising water levels on several roads.
Forecasts for the second half of September 2025

However, the chances of rainfall are still not entirely clear, and we await the results of weather models in the coming days.
