موقع ArabiaWeather.com - اضطرت شركة الخطوط الجوية التركية إلى إلغاء أكثر من 140 رحلة داخلية وخارجية، من مطاري "أتاتورك الدولي" و"صبيحة جوكتشن"، بسبب تساقط الثلوج بكثافة على مدينة إسطنبول.
وكانت معظم الرحلات داخلية، فيما كان من المقرر أن تتجه بعض الرحلات إلى مدن أوروبية، من بينها هامبورغ وميونيخ وميلان وأخرى إلى العاصمة الإيرانية طهران". وأضافت الخطوط الجوية التركية، في بيان على موقعها الإلكتروني، إلى أنه من المتوقع أن تزداد كثافة الثلوج حول إسطنبول كثافة يوم 31 ديسمبر.
من جانب آخر أصدر مكتب حاكم المدينة تحذيرات من الثلوج أيضاً، وحذّر السكان من الخروج إلا في حالات الضرورة. حيث من المتوقع استمرار تساقط الثلوج حتى الثاني من يناير، وأشار مكتب الحاكم إلى أنه تم تجهيز أكثر من ألف عربة وآلة ثقيلة أخرى لإزالة الثلوج؛ حتى تظل شبكات الطرق في إسطنبول مفتوحة.
