The number of deaths of Jordanian pilgrims increased to 75 pilgrims
Weather of Arabia - The Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs announced that the number of deaths among Jordanian pilgrims who are not part of the official mission has risen to 75 deaths, due to sunstroke as a result of the intense heat wave.
Ambassador Dr. confirmed Sufyan Al-Qudah, Director of the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs, said that 68 burial permits were issued to Jordanian pilgrims to be buried in Mecca based on the wishes of their families, and work is underway to issue 7 other burial permits. He explained that the relevant Saudi authorities have begun the procedures for burying the deceased pilgrims, including washing the bodies. They shrouded her, prayed over her, and buried her. It also issued 47 death certificates to Jordanian pilgrims so far.
Ambassador Al-Qudah added that 96 Jordanian pilgrims were found out of 110 registered on the lists of missing persons, including 27 lying in Saudi hospitals, including 15 in critical condition. The Jordanian Consulate General team in Jeddah also visited all patients and checked on their health.
Ambassador Al-Qudah indicated that the Directorate and the Jordanian Consulate General team in Mecca are in constant contact with the families of the deceased and missing persons, and that the team provides consular services to pilgrims, follows up on their health conditions with the competent Saudi authorities, and visits pilgrims in hospitals to ensure their safety.

He added that search operations for 7 missing Jordanian pilgrims are still underway, with joint efforts from the ministry’s cell, the General Consulate in Jeddah, the Jordanian embassy in Riyadh, and the Jordanian Hajj mission of the Ministry of Endowments, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, in coordination with the relevant Saudi authorities.
Ambassador Al-Qudah expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased pilgrims, praying to God to bestow His mercy upon them. He renewed his call to all Jordanian citizens who perform Hajj rituals and their families, to contact the team of the Jordanian Consulate General in Mecca to request assistance, report missing persons, or arrange for the transportation of bodies in cases of death around the clock.
