In a press statement on Wednesday, she called on farmers to take care of the irrigation network and maintain it regularly to ensure water conservation and efficient fertilizer use, while avoiding early morning irrigation, and adopting balanced, close irrigation during midday, to protect the plant from the effects of night frost, and to ensure the availability of appropriate soil moisture. .

She drew attention to the necessity of covering agricultural crops with high sensitivity to cold with plastic sheets, straw and burlap, where cloth or agricultural fabric (agril) can be used for vegetable crops, and using dry fronds or plastic bags of appropriate sizes to protect fruit seedlings and young trees, and adding organic and chemical fertilizers. With balanced and sufficient batches to warm the roots of plants, by raising the soil temperature during the winter, taking into account the use of high potassium and phosphorous foliar fertilizers, either directly on the soil or by injection into drip irrigation networks, and completely avoiding nitrogen fertilization before these periods.

It recommended that farmers spray plants with amino acid compounds, marine algae extracts, care and calcium spray, to improve nutrition and support plant cells, taking care to spray with materials such as “potassium silicate” on the leaves, just before frost waves fall. On the shoot, to reduce the impact of the frost wave.

The ministry also recommended livestock breeders to prepare their barns and place them in closed barns until the end of the wave, in addition to providing them with sufficient quantities of feed; In order to avoid any damages that may be caused to it.

She called on poultry breeders to fully inspect the farm before the air depression and perform the necessary maintenance for those farms (windows, roofs of the farm and ensure that they do not leak water, electrical installations, and water networks) so that they are more resistant to wind and rain, and so as not to be damaged, which may lead to large losses. For the farm, making sure that the ventilation holes are controlled and that they can be closed in the event of storms and strong winds, while ensuring good ventilation and not accumulating air and water inside the farm to prevent the spread of diseases and suffocation of the herd.

She stressed the need to preserve the newborns and protect them from the air currents and the severe cold associated with the depression, and to lay the barns with dry straw, especially the barns for calves, and to take care of the situation of the barn, and not to leak water inside and protect it from avalanches in the event of snowfall and accumulation on it, and farms must provide fodder needs throughout The period of low air, and not to provide frozen and cold feed because it causes diseases.

The ministry called on beekeepers to take into account heating the cells by placing burlap bags on them, then covering them with plastic, if possible, and placing the cells diagonally to prevent water from entering them, in addition to raising the cells from the ground to prevent rainwater from reaching them, and feeding the bees as soon as the frost wave ends.
