Jordan: The effect of the heat wave intensified on the Kingdom on Sunday, and the temperature is close to 40 degrees Celsius in several cities

It is expected that another rise in temperature will occur on Sunday, and it will become higher than its rates for this time of the year by about 7-9 degrees Celsius, and the weather will be hot and dry in general in most regions of the Kingdom, and temperatures are close to 40 degrees Celsius in many villages and Jordanian cities, including neighborhoods of the capital Amman, while the weather is very hot throughout the day in the Jordan Valley, Bahramit and Aqaba regions, in addition to some areas of the Badia, and temperatures are between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius in those areas, and some scattered clouds appear at high altitudes. Moderate in some areas, and winds are variable in direction between dry southeasterly and continental in the daytime hours, which gives them additional heat and turns to northwesterly on parts of the western highlands with evening and night hours.

As for at night, it is expected that there will also be another rise in night temperatures, and the atmosphere is initially generally hot, but it tends to moderate during the late night hours and early morning in the high mountainous heights and the eastern plains.

The cause of the expected heat wave in the Kingdom is “early maturation in the air systems in the middle of the Mediterranean,” meaning the decline of cold air masses and pushing the temperate air masses south towards the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, and this results in an intensification of the subtropical high altitude and the accompanying hot air mass this time. Over the Levant and northern Arabia and supported by a depression on the surface, where these weather elements will keep the hot weather over the Kingdom for many days.

The heat wave will continue to affect the Kingdom throughout this week

The specialists at the "Arab Weather" Center said that recent indicators show that the duration of the impact of this wave is expected to continue throughout the current week or more, but with varying severity from day to day. They added that when the effect of the heat wave is prolonged, it usually increases how a person feels about it, so the atmosphere becomes more stressful and tired, so that the weather remains generally hot and dry in most regions of the Kingdom, while it is inflamed in the Jordan Valley, Bahramit and Aqaba Governorate.
