Jordan: The air depression expected to begin affecting the Kingdom on Wednesday/Thursday night has been classified as a second-degree (winter) depression, but it will be followed by an influx of very cold polar winds.

Arab Weather - Despite the warm wave that has been hitting the Kingdom for several days, with temperatures remaining 10 degrees Celsius above their usual rates, the latest weather forecast maps at the Arab Weather Center indicate that the Kingdom will be gradually affected, God willing, on Wednesday/Thursday night by a low-pressure system in all atmospheric layers centered on the surface to the north of Syria and classified as a second-degree system accompanied by a humid air mass followed by an influx of very cold polar winds.

A significant drop in temperatures is expected on Wednesday/Thursday night compared to previous nights. The weather will be cold, clouds will increase at various altitudes, and rain will fall starting from the north of the Kingdom and gradually extending to the central regions. It may be accompanied by occasional thunder and hail. With the arrival of the late night hours, some rain showers are expected to extend to parts of the southern regions.

The Kingdom will continue to be affected on Thursday by a second-degree low pressure system.

Computer modeling at the Arab Weather Center indicates that temperatures are expected to continue to drop on Thursday, becoming 4-6 degrees Celsius below their usual rates for this time of year. The weather will be cold and stormy in most areas, varying between partly cloudy and cloudy, with showers of rain, God willing, falling from time to time in the north and center of the Kingdom. The winds will be remarkably strong, with the possibility of gusts sometimes reaching 100 km/h in open areas, leading to dust waves that will cause a decrease in horizontal visibility, especially in areas that will not be exposed to rain showers from the east and southeast of the Kingdom.

The low pressure system is moving eastward at night, accompanied by the penetration of very cold polar winds.

Weather forecasters at the Arab Weather Center expect the low pressure system to move eastward away from the region at night, but without completely stopping rainfall. This coincides with the penetration of very cold polar winds, so that temperatures are expected to drop further and the weather will turn very cold in most areas. Scattered showers of freezing rain and hail will fall, which may be in the form of snow showers over some high mountainous areas after midnight, as a result of the flow of these polar winds into the Kingdom.
