This advanced classification of the low-pressure system was granted due to its high impact on the southern regions of the Kingdom, as the southern regions are expected to receive large amounts of rain due to the continuation and intensity of rainfall, leading to significant flow in valleys and torrents, in addition to the possibility of flooding in some valleys, and perhaps soil and rock erosion in the affected areas.

The northern, central and eastern regions will not be isolated from the effects of the low-pressure system, as cold winter weather is expected to prevail in these regions with intermittent rainfall, which may be heavy at times and may be accompanied by thunder and local hail showers.

Wednesday afternoon and evening: The Kingdom will be affected by a state of atmospheric instability starting from the afternoon and evening hours, concentrated in the southern regions and expanding towards the rest of the regions, as rain clouds advance from southern Palestine towards the south of the Kingdom, including the Aqaba Governorate, which may be interspersed with thunder cells accompanied by heavy downpours and hail, which may lead to the flow of valleys and the formation of torrents. These rain clouds advance towards the desert regions, in addition to parts of the central regions, the Capital Governorate, and parts of the northern and eastern regions, accompanied by rain that is sometimes thundery and may be accompanied by local showers of hail.

As the night progresses, the chances of precipitation decrease in most areas, although they remain but in limited areas.

Thursday, March 26, 2026: The south of the Kingdom will be affected by a highly effective low-pressure system classified as a fourth degree (according to the scale of intensity of low-pressure systems developed by Arab Weather) , and its effects will extend towards the rest of the regions in the form of cold winter weather and rain that will be heavy at times:

The weather in the southern part of the Kingdom (Karak, Tafilah, Ma'an, and Aqaba governorates) will be cold, cloudy, and rainy, God willing. The rain will be heavy at times, accompanied by thunder and hail. Due to the prolonged heavy rainfall, flash floods are expected in the valleys and ravines of southern Jordan, necessitating maximum preparedness and vigilance. The rainfall may also trigger landslides on vulnerable mountain slopes.

And with the morning hours, snowfall is expected, God willing, and perhaps it may accumulate temporarily on the high peaks of the southern high mountain ranges (the Sharah Mountains), including the peaks of Ras al-Naqab (the desert road connecting with the Aqaba Governorate), Jabal Mubarak and the surrounding areas such as Ayl, Al-Rajef and Al-Taybeh Al-Janoubiya of the Petra District, the high heights of Al-Shoubak and the heights of Al-Hisha and the King’s Road connecting Al-Shoubak and Wadi Musa, in addition to the high peaks of Al-Qadisiyah and the Al-Rashadiyah area.

Low clouds touching the ground will cross the high mountain peaks, leading to the formation of fog and a decrease in horizontal visibility. The winds will be active westerly winds with strong gusts.
