Arab Weather - Minister of Health Dr. Firas Al-Hawari confirmed yesterday (June 22) that the ministry had detected (170) cases of the delta mutant in Jordan, while this mutant is expected to become prevalent in Jordan as well as in the whole world.

Al-Hawari said in an intervention on Al-Mamlaka channel that despite the registration of infections with the Delta mutant, this mutant did not cause a change in the epidemiological curve or the speed of spread of the virus.

He pointed out that there is a decrease in the level of citizens' commitment to preventive measures, noting that intensive inspection campaigns have been launched on facilities.

Al-Hawari indicated that the ministry had achieved important stages towards reaching 2.5 million vaccinations by July 1, and today it has managed to vaccinate 2.1 million people with the first dose, pointing out that the ministry can vaccinate 100,000 people per day, but the important thing is for everyone to adhere to their appointments.

He pointed out that the ministry was able to provide a portfolio of vaccines, providing (4) types of vaccines, while it completed contracting 18 million doses of vaccines, sufficient to vaccinate the target group.

Al-Hawari concluded his speech by saying that the ministry is seeking to reach the largest number of recipients of the two doses of the vaccine to mitigate the impact of the mutated strains.
