Meteorology: Weather warnings issued Wednesday for 5 areas, including Jeddah, Mecca, and Medina

The National Center for Meteorology issued weather warnings for several regions, including parts of Makkah, Jazan, Asir, the Eastern Province and Madinah, of strong winds, dust storms, rain accompanied by lightning and thunder, and temperatures approaching 50 degrees Celsius.

These warnings will continue until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, with "yellow and orange" warning levels in those areas.

Areas covered by warnings and forecasts of rain, lightning, and dust for Wednesday, June 17, 2026:

Makkah Region:

• The red alert includes: None.
• The orange alert for "strong winds" includes: Al-Shuaiba, Al-Lith, Rabigh, Jeddah, and the Holy Capital (Mecca).
• Yellow alert "Heat wave 48 degrees": Al-Jumum, Khulais, the Holy Capital.

Medina region:

• The red alert includes: None.
• The orange alert for "strong winds" includes: Al-Rais, Yanbu.
• Yellow alert "Heat wave 48 degrees": Al-Ais, Yanbu Al-Nakhl, Badr, Wadi Al-Fara, Al-Qunfudhah,

Eastern Region:

• Red alert: None.
• Orange alert "blowing dust": Hafr Al-Batin, Al-Khafji, Al-Nu'airiyah, Qaryat Al-Ulya
• Yellow alert "blowing dust": Al-Ahsa, Al-Udayd, Abqaiq, Jubail, Dammam, Khobar, Qatif, Ras Tanura.

Asir region:

• Red alert: None.
• Orange alert: Rijal Almaa, Mahayil, Ahad Rafidah, Khamis Mushait,
• Yellow alert "Light rain": Al Namas, Balqarn, Tanomah, Al Majardah, Bariq, Al Harjah, Al Rabwah, Al Farsha, Sarat Abidah, Dhahran Al Janoub, Al Majardah, Bariq

Jazan region:

• Red alert: None.
• Orange alert: None
• Yellow alert "Light rain": Al-Harth, Al-Dayer, Al-Raith, Al-Ardah, Al-Aydabi, Fifa, Haroub

The most prominent expected weather phenomena:

• occasionally strong winds
• Reduced horizontal visibility
• Light rain, lightning and thunder
