Arab Weather - The Greater Amman Municipality clarified that the water level had risen in some roads in two areas of the capital, Sweileh and Khalda, that it was due to the erosion of building materials and soil with water into the manholes.

The secretariat's media spokesman, Dr. Nasser Al-Rahamneh, told Ammon that the erosion of dirt and construction materials with the water led to the closure of water sources in the areas of Sweileh and Khalda, and consequently caused the water to accumulate and its level to rise in the roads.

He added that the secretariat staff immediately dealt with the two cases in Sweileh and Khalda, and closed manholes were opened and things returned to normal in the capital, Amman.

Al-Rahamneh confirmed that the movement on all tunnels and bridges in the capital is normal and did not witness any defect or accumulation of water during the rains that Amman witnessed on Monday evening.

He called on the contractors working in the capital to deal with the rain with a sense of responsibility and remove obstacles on the roads to avoid closing the manholes and damaging public roads.

Some roads in western Amman witnessed a rise in water levels due to the heavy rains during the rainstorm.

The Greater Amman Municipality announced numbers to request assistance, calling for contacting the numbers of the unified call center of the Greater Amman Municipality on the number 102 or the number 117180.
