Saudi Arabia Statistics: More than 1.6 million pilgrims performed Hajj in 1446 AH

The General Authority for Statistics in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced today that the total number of pilgrims for this year's Hajj season, 1446 AH, reached 1,673,230. 1,506,576 pilgrims arrived from outside the Kingdom through various ports, while the number of domestic pilgrims, both citizens and residents, reached 166,654.

Statistical data showed that the number of male pilgrims out of the total number of domestic and international pilgrims reached 877,841, while the number of female pilgrims reached 795,389.

Regarding the details of pilgrims arriving from outside the Kingdom, the Authority indicated that 1,435,017 pilgrims arrived via air ports, 66,465 via land ports, and 5,094 pilgrims arrived via sea ports.

The Authority confirmed that it relied on the administrative records of the Ministry of Interior to prepare these statistics, as they are the primary source of data. This ensures the accuracy and quality of the indicators, within the framework of the unified model that the Authority has been following for five years in monitoring Hajj season data.

The Authority also reiterated its role as the sole official statistical authority in the Kingdom, noting its responsibility for conducting surveys, studies, and analyzing data related to all aspects of life in Saudi Arabia.

On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Dosari, President of the General Authority for Statistics, extended his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his loyal Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect them – for the care and attention they have provided to pilgrims to the House of God, asking God Almighty to accept the Hajj of the pilgrims and return them to their homelands safe and sound.
