Arab Weather - The latest satellite images from the "Arab Weather" Center indicate the presence of rain clouds off the coast of Palestine, only 100 km away from the Kingdom, but they are unable to penetrate into the Kingdom's territory. These clouds are accompanied by low atmospheric pressure that is active in the waters of the eastern Mediterranean basin as a result of the presence of a cold air mass close to the region, concentrated over Turkey and the Balkan countries, accompanied by northwestern and humid currents, and are expected to affect the coasts of Syria, Lebanon and the northern coasts of Palestine during the next few hours.

The scientific reason behind the rain clouds not penetrating Jordan

Weather experts at Arab Weather said that these rainy clouds are the result of a low-pressure system forming in the eastern Mediterranean basin, pushing northwesterly currents towards the region. However, this is met by the penetration of high air pressure from the south extending towards the Kingdom, placing the Kingdom under the influence of descending air currents. This high pressure acts as a barrier preventing the penetration of humid currents towards the Kingdom. However, at the same time, this collision between cold northern winds and warm southern winds creates unstable weather conditions to the west of the Levant coast and the formation of rainy clouds that are expected to affect parts of the coasts of Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and parts of the interior regions in the coming hours, accompanied by thunder at times.
