At sunset, the crescent will be 4 hours and a minute old. The crescent will remain above the horizon after sunset for 19 minutes, and the crescent’s height will be at the moment of sunset. Approximately two and a half degrees, the angular distance between the Moon and the Sun is about 4 degrees and 19 minutes, the illumination percentage of the Moon is 0.1%, and the zenith angle is 300 degrees.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> These data indicate that sighting the crescent moon is not possible and impossible in Jordan and the Arab countries on Thursday evening, according to the databases recorded in the Islamic Crescent Observation Project, as well as according to the approved criteria for the probability of seeing the crescent moon, the most important of which is the return criterion, and thus the beginning of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah will be observed on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
