Saudi Arabia: Meteorology Department identifies areas expected to experience rain and lightning in the coming hours
The National Center for Meteorology, in its daily weather report, predicted thunderstorms over the highlands of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha and Makkah regions, with the continued impact of active winds stirring up dust and sand on parts of these regions, in addition to parts of Al-Jawf and the Northern Borders regions.
The report indicated that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to northerly in the northern and central parts, with speeds ranging from 15 to 40 km/h, while in the southern part they will be northwesterly to westerly at speeds of 10 to 30 km/h. Wave heights are expected to range between half a meter and one and a half meters, with sea conditions ranging from slight to moderate.
In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be northerly to northwesterly in the northern and central parts, and northwesterly to southwesterly in the southern part, with speeds ranging from 12 to 35 km/h, potentially reaching 48 km/h in the central and southern parts. Wave heights are expected to range between half a meter and one and a half meters, possibly reaching two and a half meters, with sea conditions ranging from slight to moderate, becoming rough in the central and southern parts.
