General situation:

• The weather will gradually moderate, starting from the north of the Kingdom and later the rest of the regions during the coming months.
• Temperatures are generally around average in the Kingdom during the fall season, with mild waves occurring at intervals.
• Expected activity of the Red Sea depression during periods of October and November, and improved chances of rain in parts of the northwest and north of the country.
• Warning of dust formation during some periods, especially in the second half of autumn, as a result of the approach of less cold air masses from the northwest of the Kingdom and as a result of the huge temperature differences.
• Cumulonimbus clouds with intermittent rain over the southwest of the Kingdom.
• High humidity on the coasts increases the feeling of heat and leads to the formation of fog and dense fog on some days.

First month: September 2024

General situation: The high pressure system in the upper atmosphere gradually weakens and the autumn air masses begin to approach the north of the Arabian Peninsula, leading to the beginning of moderate weather in the northern parts of the Arabian Peninsula. Humidity also rises on the coasts of the Arabian Gulf countries and fog forms on some days. Rainfall also gradually weakens in most western and southwestern regions, although it is present on some days.

The weather on the Red Sea coast, including Jeddah, is expected to be the hottest and most humid during this month.

Second month: October 2024

General situation:

• The chances of the extension of the depressions in the upper atmosphere layers over the Mediterranean basin and the north of the Arabian Peninsula increase, especially during the second half of the month, and leads to the extension of the Red Sea depression to the north and west of Saudi Arabia, so that the weather will be dry and hot in general, with the expectation of some cumulus clouds multiplying, which may be accompanied by scattered thunderstorms and active winds that cause dust.
• Fog and light fog on parts of the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf coasts, accompanied by a clear decrease in horizontal visibility.
• Monitoring the possibility of a tropical storm forming in the eastern Arabian Sea, and it will be followed up immediately if it forms.

Third month: November 2024

General situation:

• Temperature: Heat waves hitting some areas, especially the eastern parts of the country, are expected to weaken, while they will be warmer in northern Saudi Arabia.
