The Siberian high-pressure system is bringing bitterly cold weather tonight and dense fog across wide areas, which will persist until late Saturday.

Arab Weather - The latest outputs of computer simulation systems indicate that the Kingdom will be affected, starting from Friday night/Saturday morning, by the Siberian high-pressure system, which will push cold winds towards the region, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures and the dominance of very cold weather over various regions, coinciding with the formation of fog in large areas of the Kingdom that will continue until late hours on Saturday.

In detail, the minimum temperatures tonight will drop significantly to between 1 and 4 degrees Celsius, while they will be close to zero degrees Celsius near the ground surface in most areas, especially the mountainous highlands, desert areas and eastern plains.

Accordingly, frost is expected to form in several regions of the Kingdom, including agricultural areas inside and outside cities, with the exception of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba regions.

Dense fog is expected in large areas of the Kingdom, including the Queen Alia Airport area, Zizia, and the Desert Highway.

Due to the soil becoming saturated with water after a week of rain, fog is expected, God willing, to form during the late night hours (Friday/Saturday) and until late Saturday afternoon in the eastern plains and desert region. This is due to the rise in relative humidity values in the lower layers close to the earth's surface to saturation values in those areas, which include the plains of the governorates of Mafraq, Zarqa, and the east and south of the capital in particular, and Madaba. These governorates include many important areas such as the international desert roads, in addition to the Zizia area and Queen Alia International Airport. The aforementioned areas are characterized by the rapid cooling of the air after it becomes still after midnight, which increases the chances of fog formation in them compared to other areas. The winds will be light in speed and variable in direction.

Stable but cold weather is expected across all regions on Saturday.

Temperatures on Saturday remained slightly below average, with stable and cool conditions. Fog was expected for several hours across wide areas of the plains, including Queen Alia International Airport and the Desert Highway, before the skies gradually cleared with occasional cloud cover. Maximum temperatures ranged between 10 and 13 degrees Celsius in most areas, while reaching 14-16 degrees Celsius in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea region, and Aqaba.
