Japan plans to use hydrogen energy at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">ArabiaWeather.com – The Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2020 will be very different from all the past Olympics.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> And at a time when the world wants to move towards relying on green energy, therefore the Japanese government has announced that it intends to take advantage of the Summer Olympics as a venue for demonstrating hydrogen energy technology.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> This will undoubtedly be an expensive process, but this will ensure that the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be more environmentally friendly than the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The Japanese government wants to foster a “hydrogen society” by 2020, with a budget that could exceed $300 million when it comes to building enough hydrogen-powered infrastructure.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Regardless, there are plans to launch at least 100 hydrogen-powered buses in and around the city, apart from other private cars.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Toyota Mirai will be the first hydrogen-powered car in the world to be produced, in addition to other cars from Honda and Nissan. As for the Japanese government, it would like to see 6,000 hydrogen-powered cars by 2020.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The Japanese government has allocated about $385 million in subsidies to potential car buyers, not to mention using that money to build and install hydrogen fueling stations.</p>
