Weather forecasts indicate that temperatures will not rise significantly in the Gaza Strip during Eid al-Adha, with temperatures expected to be in the high twenties Celsius. However, the heat will be felt clearly due to high surface humidity levels.

High surface humidity prevents the human body from properly disposing of sweat, trapping heat within the skin, significantly increasing the sensation of heat. The actual temperature in the Gaza Strip is expected to rise to nearly 35 degrees Celsius next Friday, with a distinct feeling of heat.

This year, Gaza is experiencing Eid al-Adha amidst dire humanitarian conditions. The summer heat intersects with the ongoing war, and with thousands of homes and infrastructure destroyed, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians find themselves displaced in schools and camps lacking even the most basic necessities of life.

Despite the advent of Eid, the usual joyful displays of new clothes and sacrificial meat are absent from most families, amid a stifling economic crisis, a severe shortage of basic necessities, near-empty markets, and mosques echoing Eid takbeers in devastated cities and exhausted residents.
