Arab Weather – The latest outputs of numerical models reveal a sharp temperature variation between Arab capitals on Thursday and during the weekend, with the atmosphere ranging between scorching heat approaching the mid-forties in some areas, and moderate and refreshing atmospheres in other areas, in a picture that reflects the great climatic diversity that characterizes the Arab region extending between the continents of Asia and Africa.
The Gulf and Iraq are under the influence of the heat dome... Riyadh and Baghdad are at the forefront.
The heatwave continues to grip large parts of the Arabian Peninsula and Iraq, keeping temperatures extremely high. Riyadh and Baghdad are expected to record the highest temperatures among Arab capitals on Thursday, reaching 44 degrees Celsius, followed by Doha and Khartoum at 43 degrees Celsius, while Kuwait City will see temperatures of 42 degrees Celsius.
A clear contrast in the Levant... from summery to refreshing!
In the Levant, the temperature variations are striking, with Baghdad reaching a high of 44 degrees Celsius, while Damascus sees a low of 32 degrees Celsius, and Amman and Jerusalem remain at a moderate 30 degrees Celsius. Beirut, on the other hand, enjoys a more pleasant climate, with temperatures rarely exceeding 24 degrees Celsius, thanks to its maritime influence.
Relative moderation in North Africa, with the exception of Khartoum.
In Africa, Khartoum tops the list of hottest capitals at 43 degrees Celsius, while temperatures drop significantly in the Maghreb countries, ranging between 24 and 25 degrees Celsius in Algiers, Rabat and Nouakchott, amid more moderate weather compared to the east and center of the Arab world.
