موقع ArabiaWeather.com- وقعت محمية الأزرق المائية اتفاقية تعاون مع السفارة السويسرية في المملكة، لإنشاء مسطح مائي جديد في المحمية لزيادة الرقعة الرطبة وإعادة تأهيل الموائل الطبيعية فيها للوصول إلى 10% من الواحة الأصلية .
وتنص الاتفاقية على تمويل السفارة لتأهيل الموائل المائية بمبلغ 35 ألف دينار والتي تأتي كما يقول مدير محمية الأزرق المائية حازم الحريشة، استكمالًا لخطة تأهيل الموائل وزيادة الرقعة الرطبة في المحمية حسب الخطة المقرة في الخطة الإدارية للمحمية والتي تهدف إلى استعادة ما نسبته 10% من الواحة الاصلية والمحافظة على الأنواع المميزة في الواحة .
وأشار الحريشة إلى أهمية تأهيل الموائل في المحمية التي تعتبر المكان الوحيد في الأردن الذي يمثل نمط المناطق الرطبة لاحتوائه على السمك السرحاني وهو نوع نادر ومستوطن من الأسماك وإن هذا النوع لا يوجد في أي مكان في العالم إلا في واحة الأزرق، و قد أصبح إرثًا طبيعيًا حضاريًا للمنطقة الذي كان مهددًا بالانقراض.
