A large fire broke out today in wheat fields east of Irbid, causing large plumes of smoke to rise and blanket parts of the area. Recent satellite images show a thick cloud of smoke from the fire, clearly visible over eastern Irbid Governorate due to the fire's extensive reach and intensity.

Civil defense personnel dealt with the fire that affected agricultural areas planted with wheat, while the scenes circulating of the fire sparked widespread reaction due to the losses incurred by the agricultural crops at the peak of the harvest season.

Smoke clouds from large fires are among the phenomena that can be observed via satellites, especially when the fires are large-scale and lead to the emission of large quantities of smoke and particles suspended in the atmosphere.
