ويتوقع أن تصل سرعة الرياح إلى 45 كلم/ساعة خلال ساعات النهار، حيث تعمل على إثارة الغبار في هذه المناطق، ما يؤدي إلى تدني مدى الرؤية الأفقية أثناء نشاط سرعة الرياح.
ويعود السبب لهبوب هذه الرياح النشطة هو زيادة الفرق في الضغط الجوي بين منطقة البحر الأحمر والمناطق الداخلية الغربية للجزيرة العربية، حيث تعمل هذه الظروف الجوية على هبوب رياح جنوبية شرقية جافة ونشطة السرعة مصدرها صحاري جنوب غرب الجزيرة العربية.
