Arab Weather - Sinan Khalaf - The latest computer simulations indicate that the Hajar Mountains in the Sultanate of Oman will continue to be affected by tropical humidity coming from the Arabian Sea, leading to renewed activity of cumulonimbus clouds and heavy rainfall of varying intensity, extending to some eastern parts of the UAE and the city of Al Ain.

Thunderstorms will begin to become active in the region's skies starting from noon.

In detail, God willing, cumulonimbus clouds are expected to gradually increase starting in the afternoon hours over the Al Hajar Mountains in the Sultanate of Oman, and rain will begin to fall gradually, sometimes torrential, which may lead to flash floods and the flow of valleys and ravines, in addition to the possibility of hail and lightning, which requires attention, especially in low-lying areas.

The weather conditions extend to the UAE and Al Ain city in particular.

Forecasts indicate that the effects of the weather conditions will gradually extend during the afternoon and evening hours towards the mountainous regions in the north and east of the UAE, including Al Ain and the mountainous regions of Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai, Ajman, and Fujairah, accompanied by rain of varying intensity and active winds that will cause dust storms.

Warning of downwind and reduced visibility

It also warns of downward winds accompanying thunderstorms, which may cause local dust storms and reduce horizontal visibility, especially on mountain roads and open areas in both Oman and the UAE.
