The extreme weather conditions caused delays or temporary suspensions on several metro and high-speed train lines, as well as the cancellation of some domestic flights, while emergency and rescue teams were deployed to vulnerable areas.

Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the latest computer map readings indicate that Japan is on the cusp of a new tropical storm in the coming days. It is expected to be accompanied by strong winds and torrential rains, potentially affecting the capital, Tokyo, directly.

These weather conditions are likely to increase the likelihood of flash floods and torrential rains again, especially in areas still reeling from the effects of the previous storm.

In this context, Japan is affected during the summer by a number of changing atmospheric pressure systems, sometimes accompanied by an influx of moisture from the southeast across the Pacific Ocean, leading to severe weather disturbances, especially given the mountainous terrain that enhances the strength of cumulus formations.
