Urgent: Jordan government decision issued regarding the return to winter time.
Arab Weather - Informed government sources confirmed today, Thursday, that there is no change to the Jordanian government's decision to maintain summer time (Greenwich Mean Time +3) throughout the year.
The sources said that winter time will not return to the system at the end of next October, as was previously the case.
This confirmation comes in response to increasing inquiries from citizens as fall approaches regarding whether the government will reinstate the clock-change system. Sources explained that the Cabinet's decision, taken in 2022 to abolish winter time and permanently adopt summer time, remains in effect, and there are no plans or current studies to change it.
The government justified its decision at the time by stating that it aimed to maximize daylight savings, conserve energy, and align official working hours in the Kingdom with those of a number of international and regional partners.
