موقع ArabiaWeather.com- قام الباحث الأمريكي "تشارلي ويد" بتجميع نحو 24 صورة مختلفة لكوكب الأرض، تمكنت الأقمار الصناعية من التقاطها على مدار يوم كامل، لتظهر في فيديو، أطلق عليه اسم Glittering Blue يستعرض شكل الأرض وتغيره منذ شروق الشمس حتى الغروب، وذلك عند النظر إليه من الفضاء.
وقد التقط هذه الصور القمر الصناعى الياباني، "هيماواري-8" الذي يبتعد نحو 35،400 كيلومتراً فوق سطح الأرض، ويدور حول الكوكب بنفس سرعة دوران الأرض، مما يسمح له بالتقاط صور للأرض على مدار اليوم من شروق الشمس إلى غروبها.
وقال ويد "حاولت أن أعدل الألوان في الفيديو لتبدو مثل الأرض عند النظر إليها من الفضاء، فأنا أعمل فى مجال تعديل صور الأقمار الصناعية، وأقدر مشاعر الناس عند الإحساس بأن أحدهم تلاعب بالصور، لذلك قمت بتعديلات طفيفة مثلما تفعله الكاميرات العادية تلقائيا".
