Arab Weather - Computer maps at the Arab Weather Center indicate that an extremely cold air mass of polar origin is centered over Turkish territory, pushing cold winds towards the Levant. Consequently, temperatures will drop sharply and clearly at the end of the week, and the weather will turn relatively cold across most regions and cold over the mountains, with clouds appearing and showers of rain falling in some areas, especially coastal ones.

Winds will be moderate southwesterly to westerly, increasing in intensity over time, becoming active and accompanied by strong gusts exceeding 70 km/h in some areas, particularly the eastern ones, causing dust waves to form in the desert and on desert roads, particularly in the afternoon.

Very cold nights and minimum temperatures at winter levels

Over the coming nights, minimum temperatures will drop significantly, making the atmosphere extremely cold at night. Temperatures will approach zero degrees Celsius over high mountain peaks and parts of the desert and plains, and may even fall below zero degrees Celsius in some areas. Farmers are therefore warned of the danger of the significant drop in temperatures and the impact this will have on crops.
