Arab Weather - In a beautiful astronomical scene, the planet Venus, known as the "morning and evening star," shines at its brightest these days, adorning the eastern horizon before sunrise. Venus has long been associated with love and beauty and was called "Aphrodite" by ancient civilizations.

Venus will reach its peak brightness on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM Jordan time. Since this moment will occur during the day, the best opportunity to enjoy the bright view of Venus will be on the morning of Monday, April 28, between 3:58 AM and 5:53 AM, in the eastern direction, when it will be clearly visible to the naked eye and does not require optical instruments to view it. This is the peak brightness of Venus until November 2026.

Venus' apparent magnitude is -4.8, making it the brightest object in the sky after the Sun and the Moon, with a brightness of about 26%. Venus is 0.43 astronomical units away from Earth, or about 64 million kilometers away, and 0.72 astronomical units away from the Sun, or about 108 million kilometers away, with an elongation with the Sun of about 39 degrees.

The scientific reason for this exceptional brilliance is due to Venus's position in its orbit around the sun. Venus lies roughly between Earth and the sun, and appears to us in the crescent phase, which adds to the magic of this astronomical view. Venus completes its orbit around the sun, known as the "Venusian year," in 225 Earth days.
