Arab Weather meteorologists analyzed weather conditions in and around Ahmedabad at the time of the Indian plane crash. Analysis of preliminary weather maps suggests that temperatures rising to high levels exceeding 40°C may have been one of the factors that contributed to the plane crash.

At 40°C, the air becomes less dense, which weakens the wings' ability to lift the plane. Also, in hot weather, engines produce less power, making the plane slower and weaker at climbing. Furthermore, the weight of the plane due to fuel and passengers increases, making takeoff more difficult in these conditions.

For his part, an Air India spokesperson reported via X (formerly Twitter) that "Flight AI171 from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick was involved in an accident today... We are verifying the details and will share any new information as soon as possible."
