The formation of an air front begins immediately after the meeting of two air masses whose characteristics differ from each other, in terms of humidity and temperature. It must be noted that to ensure the formation of an air front, there must be a complete difference in the air masses in terms of characteristics and characteristics, and this requires that the extension be vertical. That is, towards the top of the air front.

Are there types of air fronts?

The answer: Yes, it is known in meteorology that there are types of air fronts, and each of these types occurs under the influence of a group of factors, and the types of air fronts are:

• Cold front: The cold air front originates at the boundary between the two masses. When a cold mass replaces a warm mass, in this case the air lies behind the cold front and has a lower temperature than the air in front of the front.
• Warm front: It is always at the front of the cold front, and it has relatively warm and humid air. It is indicated on the weather map by a thick red line interspersed with small semicircles.
• Closed front: A closed air front is formed when the cold air front joins the warm air front, resulting in warm air being trapped between the two fronts, which then rises upward, creating a frontal depression.
