A severe cold wave hits Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and snow covering the peaks of the Hoggar Mountains in southern Algeria

Arab Weather - A very cold Siberian air mass rushes from the central Mediterranean west towards Libya, Tunisia and Algeria on Monday and Tuesday, as rain showers, especially on the Libyan coasts, and snowfall on the highlands of Tunisia and Algeria.

On Tuesday, the extremely cold air mass continues to move south to reach the heights of Hoggar and Tassili, bringing with it snow showers in those areas with a sharp and large temperature drop to touch the minimum temperatures at dawn Wednesday -12 degrees Celsius above the summit of the labyrinth.

It is expected that the weather will follow a severe frost in various regions of Libya, Tunisia and Algeria, where temperatures will fall below zero degrees Celsius in large areas on Wednesday and Thursday morning due to clear weather and control of an elevated air.

The aerial maps indicate the possibility of cold air mass reaching areas that were not used to before, as it will continue its drive south towards Chad, Niger, Mali, northern Nigeria and northern Cameroon in an event that is less than what happens.
