A severe heat wave is affecting several European countries, with temperatures exceeding those recorded in the capitals of the Levant.

Arab Weather - Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Center said that a large part of Europe will experience a heat wave in the coming period, particularly in southwestern Europe. The heat wave is caused by a hot air mass rushing in from the Sahara Desert, causing extreme heat conditions.

According to the processed weather maps, the weather forecasting team at the Arab Weather Regional Center is monitoring the extension of the heat wave from the end of this week, starting from southwestern Europe and extending over the coming week to several regions in central Europe, including the Scandinavian countries and Italy, with maximum temperatures reaching nearly 35 degrees Celsius and possibly exceeding that in Spain, Portugal and France, amid hot to extremely hot weather dominating the European continent.

Advanced computer simulations predict temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius in Spain and neighboring countries. Maximum temperatures in these regions are expected to exceed those recorded in the capitals of the Levant, where maximum temperatures range between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius amid moderate weather conditions due to the advance of an air mass with temperatures lower than usual.

The scientific reason behind this renewed heat wave is the presence of a relatively cold air mass pushing into western Europe. This weather system is causing a hot air mass to rush from North Africa toward Europe, and then, as is the case every time, it is pushing back.
