Important | Areas in Amman and Zarqa affected by water supply cuts for 4 consecutive days

Arab Weather - The Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Water Authority, Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna), and the Disi Water Pipeline Operator Company (DIWACO) announced their intention to stop pumping Disi water next week, starting from Sunday morning, December 28, 2025, until Thursday morning, January 1, 2026, for a period of 96 hours, to carry out the annual preventive maintenance work scheduled by the Disi Water Project Operator Company on a number of facilities of the Disi Water System.

The Ministry/Water Authority explained that the suspension of water pumping operations from the Disi Water Project comes with the aim of carrying out the scheduled annual periodic maintenance work to maintain the continuity of water pumping to all areas and subscribers, indicating that the scheduled suspension of water pumping from the Disi Project will partially affect a number of specific areas in the governorates of the capital Amman and Zarqa.

The Ministry/Water Authority and Miyahuna Company called on citizens to take the necessary precautions and be well prepared during the current week, and to store sufficient quantities of water to meet the needs of subscribers during the shutdown period, explaining that the Disi Water Project is a project built on the BOT system, whereby the operating company of the project undertakes the operation of the project, maintains all facilities, and carries out the necessary periodic maintenance to ensure its continued efficiency throughout the year.

The Ministry/Water Authority and Miyahuna Company indicated that the areas that will be affected in both the capital Amman and Zarqa, specifically the Ruseifa area, are as follows:

Sahab, Abu Alanda, Al-Muwaqqar District, the areas surrounding the Madaba Road, Na’ur District, Al-Marqab, Uhud, Jawa, Al-Muqabalin, Umm Qusayr, Al-Bunayyat, Marj Al-Hamam, Al-Yasmin, Al-Quwaysimah, Al-Bunayyat, Prince Ali Suburb, Al-Yadudah, Khuraibat Al-Souq, Al-Tayyibah, Al-Juwaydah, Al-Laban, Al-Tunayb, Khashafiyah Al-Shawabkeh, Khashafiyah Al-Dabaibah, Al-Alkoumiyah, Al-Jizah, Al-Qastal, Haj Hassan Suburb, Al-Zuhur, Al-Ashrafiyah, Al-Mustanidah, Umm Nuwarah.
