Arab Weather - The latest computer simulations predict that Eastern Europe will be affected by a cold air mass in the coming days, leading to the formation of an early low pressure system centered around the Black Sea, accompanied by heavy rainfall in several European countries, including Türkiye.

Will the low pressure system affect the Levant?

Arab Weather experts have indicated that weather systems in the northern hemisphere are still not yet mature enough to allow the deepening of the depressions in the eastern Mediterranean basin. This is because the jet stream, which is a high-speed wind in the upper atmosphere, is still not deep enough to reach the south, and this is normal at this time of year.

However, parts of western Syria and the Lebanese coast are expected to witness clouds at various altitudes by the end of this week, accompanied by scattered showers of rain in those areas.

What about the rest of September?

Data from the Arab Weather app indicates that the chances of rain are not expected to increase across most parts of the Levant during the remainder of September 2025. This is because there will be no radical change in the distribution of weather systems, as the southern Levant remains under the influence of an extended upper air pressure system.

This does not prevent the possibility of some clouds forming and flowing into some coastal and inland areas of the Levant, but in a random and scattered manner, and not in the form of an integrated weather system.
