وقام أحد المواطنين في المنطقة بتوثيق الحادث على شاطئ مركز العباسي من خلال تصوير مقطع فيديو، فيما أبدى المواطنون تخوفهم من وجود تلوث في مياه البحر تسببت بنفوق الأسماك بهذا العدد.

 

وقد ترجع أسباب نفوق الأسماك إلى نقص الأوكسجين والطحالب الحمراء؛ الناجم عن اختلاف الصفات الفيزيائية لمياه البحر بسبب الصرف الصناعي أو الصرف الصحي، إلى جانب أسباب بحرية أخرى، وفقاً لـ "سبق".
