Jordan: Despite midday… extremely low temperatures in most parts of the Kingdom

Arab Weather - The Kingdom continues today, Thursday, January 22, 2026, to be affected by the extension of the Siberian high pressure system, accompanied by the rush of very cold air masses, which has led to the prevalence of bitterly cold weather in various regions.

According to readings from weather monitoring stations at 12 noon, remarkably low temperatures were recorded throughout the Kingdom, ranging between 3 and 5 degrees Celsius in many areas, including the capital Amman, while approaching zero degrees Celsius in parts of the high mountain peaks.

Arab weather experts pointed out that the perceived temperatures felt by the human body were lower than the actual recorded temperatures, due to the absence of sunlight and the clear activity of easterly winds in several regions.

God willing, the Kingdom is expected to continue to be affected by these very cold weather conditions during the rest of the day, with the possibility of local showers of rain remaining from time to time, which may take the form of light snow showers in some areas.

As for the upcoming forecast, temperatures are expected to rise on Friday, God willing, making the weather less cold than it is now, but it will remain generally cold.
