Arab Weather - The Kingdom is expected to be affected by a state of atmospheric instability starting at the end of the week. Experts at Arab Weather explained that these periods of atmospheric instability are usually accompanied by scattered rainfall, leading to significant variations in the location and intensity of precipitation within small geographical areas. This variation is a dangerous factor, as it contributes to significant flash flooding in valleys and the formation of torrents that travel between regions without requiring rainfall in the same area. These periods of atmospheric instability are characterized by the rapid changes in weather conditions over very short periods.
These conditions are also accompanied by an increased likelihood of large hailstones and sudden gusts of wind. Dense dust clouds may also form in desert areas before the onset of thunderstorms. The upcoming weather system is expected, God willing, to be primarily concentrated in the southern and eastern regions of the Kingdom.
Unstable weather conditions pose a risk in some areas, as they can lead to flash floods resulting from heavy rainfall in localized areas for short periods, especially in mountainous and rocky regions where rainwater flows from higher elevations into valleys. Previous dry seasons also increase the likelihood of flash floods, as rainwater does not easily penetrate the soil but instead collects on the surface and rushes rapidly into valleys and waterways. Therefore, it is essential to monitor waterways and avoid valleys and low-lying areas during periods of unstable weather or low-pressure systems.
Due to weather forecasts indicating that the Kingdom will be affected by unstable weather conditions at the end of the week, accompanied by the possibility of heavy thunderstorms that may lead to the formation of flash floods and a rise in water levels in a number of regions.
The Arab Weather Center recommends cancelling all trips and outdoor activities in all regions of the Kingdom, especially in the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea areas, starting from the end of the week until the unstable weather conditions end.
And God knows best.
