Arab Weather - The Kingdom has been affected since Monday evening by the extension of what is known as the Siberian High, which reached its peak during Wednesday and Thursday. This was accompanied by bitterly cold weather in all regions, especially during the night and early morning hours, and in conjunction with a noticeable increase in the speed of the easterly winds, which increased the feeling of cold.
However, the computer maps in Arab Weather indicate – thanks be to God – that the severity of the cold wave is beginning to break and the weather is gradually recovering towards the end of the weekend, as a clear rise in temperatures is expected on Friday compared to what is currently the case, with the weather remaining generally cold, but with less severity than the extreme cold that prevailed during the past days.
Details: God willing, tomorrow, Friday, January 23, 2026, the weather will be very cold during the morning hours, with low clouds appearing, and there is a possibility of local and temporary rain showers in parts of the north of the Kingdom.
During the daytime, temperatures will rise significantly, becoming about 2-3 degrees Celsius above average for this time of year. The weather will be relatively cold to cold in most areas, with scattered clouds appearing, and the wind direction will shift to become westerly coming from the Mediterranean Sea, thus being less cold compared to previous days.
During the evening and night hours of Friday/Saturday, the weather will remain generally cold to very cold in various regions, with a continued need to wear warm clothes, and frost is possible in parts of the desert and high mountains.
Temperatures will drop to around average, and the weather will be cold and partly cloudy with a chance of scattered showers in some areas.
Fog is likely to form in the morning in parts of the desert and eastern plains. Winds will be moderate westerly, with active gusts in the afternoon and evening, which may stir up dust and sand in desert areas.
And God knows best.
